United Nation is an intergovernmental organization to promote international co-operation. The journey of UN started from 24 October 1945 with 51 member states as its founder Nation, now there are 193 member states, the legitimacy of UN. In present time, UN has set Various Goals for the sustainable development of Mankind maintaining international peace and security, promoting human rights, fostering social and economical development, protecting the environment and providing humanitarian aid, natural disaster and armed conflict, poverty alleviation and so on. In context of Nepal, UNMIN plays the vital role for ceasing civil war, monitoring the disarmament of Maoist rebels and the preparations of Constituent Assembly elections in 2007. UNMIN ceased operations on January 15, 2011.
