The name "United Nations", coined by United States President Franklin.D.Roosevelt was first used in the Declaration by UN of 1st January 1942,during Second World War,when representatives of 26 nations pledged their governments to continue fighting together against the axis power. The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization establish to promote international cooperation. It replaced the League of Nations and the organization was created following World War 2 to prevent another conflict.
