To build a future one wants, one must have the vision to shape it. In my vision, my United Nations will operate in cost-effective, less bureaucratic, and more nimble ways. It will institute a world body committed to establishing partnerships with flourishing countries that can spiral upwards the countries languishing in poverty into economic prosperity. It will strive to entitle equal rights and opportunities of education and employment to both men and women. In my vision of the future, pictures of famished African
children on social media will be replaced by healthy African children in neat school uniforms. My United Nations will effectively deliver security through the Security Council, the peacekeepers will always keep peace, the health body will not be shaken up by any epidemic outbreak and the refugee agency will no longer deal with exodus fleeing war-torn regions. My UN will not become a bystander when raging Middle Eastern fists rise up seeing their own fists as warriors and the others as enemies; when explosives obliterate human settlements and historic monuments, during massacres done under the thin shroud of religion, when other countries are turned into Syria or Iraq. In my vision, humanity will not need heart-breaking pictures of a toddler swept ashore for reawakening. My UN will advocate equality, sovereignty and integrity for all countries and citizens. My UN will strive freedom from the shackles of oppression and injustice and will leave no stone unturned to secure a future for our future generations that we can be proud of.
