#11 UN Essay 2015: My United Nations – A Vision For The Future

If I were to draw, seventy years of United Nations (UN) in a world canvas it would stretch from Russia in the east most tip of the world to the United States of America in the west. The journey that 51 countries undertook in the year 1945 after the chaos and destruction of World War II has reached its 8th decade completing, 70 glorious years. Many things have changed along the way, most profoundly, an addition of 141 countries in its journey to promote and protect human rights, reduce poverty, fight diseases, protect and preserve the environment and to maintain harmony and understanding among the countries. Looking back, United Nations has always remained true to its charter, thus crossing many milestones and overcoming many disasters, tragedy and international conflict.
