United Nations, the international organization which mainly concerns human right, security and prosperity, was formed during 2nd world war in 1st January, 1942 with the representatives of 26 countries. The United Nations officially came into existence in 24th October, 1945. The member countries at that time were China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and other signatories. At present, the UN is an umbrella organization made up of 193 member states also as a member of general assembly. The current Secretary General of UN- Mr. Ban Ki Moon has been a spokesperson for the interests of the world people, in particular the poor and vulnerable.
