The ERZO team visited Solukhumbu on 30 April and briefly interacted with DDRC chair and other key members of the committee that included District Police head, Army Commander, District Education Officer, hospital officials, Child Rights Officer, Acting Women Development Officer in regards with the quake and situation aftermath.Solukhumbu is a poor hilly district but known for mountaineering focused tourism across the globe. Literacy rate stands around 50%. According to DEO, 47 schools have been fully damaged and 43 schools have been partially damaged due to the earthquake.In Solu, there is one district hospital. A total of 34 health posts also serve the population in the district. According to DHO, 4 health posts have been fully damaged.The district has about 60 kms blacktopped road till the district headquarters from south-west.The district has 4 small sized black-topped airports at various tourist areas including the DHQ, Salleri.
