Highlights:
1. In May 2015, retail prices of most food commodities monitored in 12 markets across Nepal showed an upward trend due to the start of the lean season and following an upward trend in global markets (e.g., pulses).
2. Overall inflation rate in May 2015 was 7.1 percent. The food and beverage group was higher at 8.9 percent, as were several sub-groups: legume varieties (24.5 percent), milk products and eggs (13.4 percent), fruits (13.3 percent) and spices (12.6 percent).
