Highlights:
1. The result of a 233 water sources sample check in affected districts shows that most of the resources were contaminated. Risks are this may lead to an epidemic outbreak.
2. Multiple businesses, including the construction sector that is vital for rebuilding, are facing acute shortage of workers in the aftermath of the earthquake.
3. Inequality in access to rescue and relief provisions for ethnic minorities and lower castes is reported. One assessment team found discrimination in access to shelter, food aid, health and water and sanitation for 60-70% Dalits communities.
