OCHA Charikot Humanitarian Hub was established a week after the 12 May earthquake (EQ)
aftershock to support operational coordination in three districts, namely, Dolakha, Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga.OCHA Charikot conducted a scoping/field mission in Okhaldhunga to have a better understanding of the coordination set-up between the district authorities and humanitarian partners and the remaining humanitarian needs of the (EQ) affected population. Annex A is the OCHA Charikot Team Terms of Reference and members.
The two member OCHA team was able to meet with the Chief District Officer (CDO), Local
Development Officer (LDO), Nepal Army Chief, District Health Officer (DHO), Women and
Children Development Officer (WCDO), UNICEF, WFP, Swiss Development Cooperation and
Save the Children. All interviews took place within the Okhaldhunga Municipality except for the DHO in Rumjatar VDC. (See Annex B: Names and contact details of the persons interviewed).
