1. To date, the nutrition cluster partners reached 368,774 (93% from the target of 397,211) children (6 to 59 months) in screening for acute malnutrition using Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC).
2. To prevent deterioration in acute malnutrition, a blanket supplementary feeding program has been launched reaching 34,728 children (6 to 23 months). In addition, the program reached 1,675 PLW
3. Micronutrient supplementation services including the distribution of micronutrient powders and vitamin A have respectively reached to 310,315 and 350,740 children (6 to 59 months) respectively. Moreover, iron and folic acid supplementation has been provided to 26,180 pregnant and postnatal mothers.
4. A total of 154,798 mothers and caretakers have been counseled on infant and young children feeding (IYCF) practices including breastfeeding and complementary feeding.
5. 744 children 6-59 months with severe acute malnutrition have been admitted in the therapeutic program and out of which 152 children reported cured with the recovery rate of 78.4%.
6. To date 13,945 government health workers, NGO staff and female community health volunteers have received dedicated training on the management of acute malnutrition, breastfeeding and complementary feeding counselling and support, MNP distribution as well as identification, referral for acute malnutrition.
7. Cluster partners are operational in all the 14 affected districts providing comprehensive emergency nutrition support. Identified gaps have nonetheless been addressed through scaling up of nutrition activities such as the Child Nutrition Week (28 June to 4 July) and Breastfeeding week (1-7August), Capacity building of HWs and FCHVs and strengthening of health system, Expansion of OTPs in hard to reach areas after training of HWs and FCHVs, Community mobilization and outreach after training activities
8. Partners conducted district level review meeting in coordination with the Child Health Division and District Health office across all the districts in August 2015. The result of the review have been discussed at the cluster meeting and subsequently the compiled report will be released
