Under the leadership of the Ministry of Federal Affairs & Local Development (MoFALD) and Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), the Early Recovery cluster and its partners have reached 861,000 people through supporting the following:
1. Debris management and safe demolition:
An estimated 57,300 households have benefitted from safe demolition and debris removal.
Priorities have shifted to public buildings including health and education facilities.More people are benefitting from restored access to services, while the cash for work modality will not reach as many individuals as planned in line with current demand.
2. Community infrastructure & livelihood recovery:
71,200 households have benefitted from community infrastructure initiatives including road clearance and rehabilitation with support of emergency employment. Initiatives to support market and livelihood recovery including skill development have commenced.
3. Restoration of critical local services:
Support to establish temporary local government offices and other public buildings have been undertaken benefitting an estimated 220,000 people.
