छाउपडी नेपालको सुदूर र मध्य पश्चिम क्षेत्रका सबै जात तथा समूहका हिन्दूहरूमा लामो समयदेखि कायम रहेको र व्यापक रूपमा प्रचलित प्रथा हो । यस प्रथा अनुसार, महिलाहरू महिनाबारी हुँदाका बेला अपवित्र मानिन्छन् । अतः सामान्य दैनिक जीवनका थुप्रै व्रिmयाकलापमा अरूबाट अलग्याइन्छन् । यस्तो प्रथालाई डडेलधुरा, बैतडी र दार्चुलामा ।।।छुई’ अथवा ।।।बाहिर हुनु’, अछाममा ।।।छाउपडी’ र बझाबमा ।।।छौकुल्ला’ अथवा ।।।छौकुडी’ पनि भनिन्छ ।
