On the 12th May 2015, Nepal experienced another earthquake of 7.1 magnitude earthquake with epicentre very close to Sindhupalchok District. The Humanitarian Hub at Chautara saw an influx of IDPs immediately after the earthquake. IOM opened its compound to shelter the vulnerable people and their families. 6 big family tents were earmarked to accommodate the incoming IDPs. Since, the population was coming in from immediate vicinity, it was important to know the intention of them. IOM rolled out a rapid intention survey in two of the sites inside the Humanitarian Hub. A set of very simple questions were asked to the head of the family to know their immediate intention. The data presented here comes from a sample size of 2 sites with 86 households and 417 internally displaced persons (IDPs) within the Humanitarian Hub.
