Highlights:
1. A 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal 12 May, 12:50 pm local time. The epicentre was located 76 km northeast of Kathmandu, in Dolakha district. A 6.3 aftershock occurred half-an-hour later. Several aftershocks with epicenters in Dholaka and Sindhupalchok were registered in the hours that followed, the strongest one with a magnitude of 5.1 (EMSC 13/05/2015).
2. According to the Government, 31 out of Nepal’s 75 districts have been affected by the 12 May earthquake (BBC 12/05/2015).
3. As of 13 May 17:00 local time, 65 dead and 1926 injured people have been reported (MOHA 13/05/2015). Together with the death toll of 8154 people from the April 25 earthquake, there have been 8219 fatalities. Close to 18,000 people have been injured in total.
