The roll-out of district preparations for the Constituent Assembly election is now the focus for Nepal’s Election Commission (EC). The EC headquarters at Bagh Durbar in the heart of Kathmandu is a hive of activity as Commissioners and staff work to support district activities. UNMIN’s Electoral Assistance Office is working hard to assist these preparations.
“Our friends at UNMIN are helping us from central to district level” says Chief Election Commission Bhojraj Pokharel. “They are here to provide technical electoral assistance, and we use their advice in order to render our election more reliable with the help of their international experience.”
