Nepal is a country with high disaster risk, where investments in risk reduction both save lives and protect development goals. It is important to proactively integrate Disaster and Climate Risk Management (D/CRM) into key development sectors to lead to a self-sustained, long-term reduction in risk. To develop a more resilient Nepal, the UNDP Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Programme supports the government in mainstreaming
D/CRM through a number of activities. UNDP has developed and implemented a number of sector-specific training sessions for key ministries including Ministry of Education, Ministry of Irrigation, Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation and Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology and various District Development Committees to help achieve this goal.
