Address by :Ian Martin, Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Nepal. (Constituent Assembly and the role of Media Organized by the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Kathmandu)
|
"I am very pleased to be here today. The role of the media is extremely important in the context of any election, and especially in an election that is as important for the future of the country as the forthcoming Constituent Assembly election. I applaud the Federation of Nepalese Journalists for convening this gathering, at a time when journalists have a critical role to play in the historic transition underway in Nepal- a transition to which the FNJ made such a great contribution before and during the Jana Andolan."
