A dry landslide blocked the Kaligandaki River in Myagdi district, about 140km north-west of Kathmandu on early morning of 24 May, putting the downstream districts on high alert. However, water has since begun flowing outPeople tired of waiting for government assistance are building temporary shelters from salvaged zinc sheets and bamboo. Earthquake victims of some villages and settlements in Dhiyal VDC, located at the border of Makawanpur and Rautahat districts have been unable to get any relief materials due to ongoing border dispute.
