Three key Early Recovery priorities have been identified under the leadership of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD).Government reports 458,272 houses destroyed and 177,389 damaged and an estimate of roughly 40 million cubic meters of debris need to be managed. Initial assessments indicate that affected communities lost significant livelihood assets such as small irrigation structures, existing renewable energy sources, community feeder roads and trails, seed stores, market centers and cooperative offices.
