Government housing damage numbers – www.neoc.gov.np 190,000 destroyed and 173,000 damaged – still assessing. Overall the Shelter Cluster has distributed 65,000 tarpaulins. 41% of the tarps distributed have been in Gorkha and 10% in Kathmandu. Stock in country that have been reported to the Shelter cluster: 25,000. There are an estimated 300,000 tarps in the pipeline to arrive in country in the next 2 weeks. Agencies are beginning to focus on planning for recovery and the cluster will have a technical working group to look at shelter recovery programs. The Nepal government has confirmed that customs/duties are being waived as well as fees for entry VISAs – please advise if you are experience difficulties.
