UNICEF and partners are intending to reach approximately 1.7 million children who represent 40 percent of the 4.2 million affected population in 21 of the most affected districts of Nepal. (Source:NEOC/MOHA) UNICEF Nepal Country Office has already received 60% of the required supplies for rapid response. Tents, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, school materials have already been distributed in Kathmandu and other affected districts. Child Friendly Spaces have been established in temporary camps, benefiting around 600 children age 2-12. As of 30 April 2015, UNICEF provided access to safe water to 11,552 people in Kavrepalanchok and Kathmandu districts, and reached 75,378 people with hygiene education and hygiene kit through interpersonal communication in seven of the most affected districts.
