Reference: Professor Middlemiss, J.H. (1978). Radiation Medicine in Nepal - Assignment Report (WHO Project: ICP HSD 002) , WHO. URL-http://apps.who.int/iris/ The purpose of the assignment was to assess the present state of the various aspects of radiation medicine in Nepal. The intention is that there should be a hospital in each district. These may be 15- or 25-bedded hospitals, and the plan is that there should ultimately be simple X-ray apparatus in each of these hospitals capable of X-raying bones and chests. During the phase of development, which may last for a decade or more, if communications between two districts is good and travel between them is not too difficult, an X-ray facility in one district, may also serve a hospital in an adjacent district.
