URL-http://apps.who.int/iris/ The writer was assigned to Nepal from 14 March to 10 May 1975 to assist the National Malaria Organization in the improvement of the malaria laboratory services. During that assignment a study was made of the malaria laboratory services with special attention to the cross-checking facilities. Training was given in malaria parasitology, microscopy and staining techniques to senior laboratory personnel. (For report, see document SEA/Mal/107 dated 27 October 1975.) The present assignment was made to review the progress that has been made since 1975 in the regional cross-checking system and give refresher training to all the malaria technicians employed at the field level.
