URL-http://apps.who.int/iris/ The aim of the project is to eradicate smallpox in nepal. The last case of smallpox occurred on 6 April 1975 and zeropox was claimed on 24 May 1975. After the achievement of zeropox, surveillance activities have been strengthened, and two national mobile assessment teams to monitor the surveillance activities were created in January 1976. India, which had been the source of importations into Nepal since July 1972 (except for one importation from Bangladesh), achieved zeropox in June 1975 and Bangladesh attained zeropox in November 1975.
