Reference: Garmana, A. (1974). Assignment Report on Medical Stores Management in Nepal (WHO Project: Nepal 0032), WHO. URL-http://apps.who.int/iris/ The writer was assigned to Nepal to assist the Department of Health Services in preparing a plan for an effective logistic system aiming at the improvement of the supply services based on a decentralized distribution system. The writer is of the opinion that, to be effective, a logistic plan should be based upon an assessment of the geography, the communication structure, Nepal's development policy, an appraisal of the existing supply organization, its supply sources and the government resources in both personnel and finance. Since the survey carried out by a WHO Consultant on Stores Management in 1969, much has changed in Nepal. Communications in general and the road structure in particular are much improved over what they were four years ago, especially in those parts of the country east of the Dhaulagiri, and the Rapti Zone, the central region and eastern Terai.
