URL-http://apps.who.int/iris/ The Government of Nepal Established a combined tuberculosis and leprosy control pilot project with the assistance of WHO and UNICEF in Kathmandu in June 1965. However, for administrative reasons, the two projects were separated approximately 2-1/2 years later. The main objective of the pilot project was to give direct BCG vaccination to children under 15 years of age. WHO awarded fellowship to medical and paramedical personnel for study outside the country, especially in India, in the method of tuberculosis control as applicable to developing countries.
