URL-http://apps.who.int/iris/ WHO assistance to the leprosy control activities in Nepal started in 1963, and a comprehensive analysis of the situation up to the beginning of 1973 is given in Dr. K. S. Seal's Assignment Report (SEA/Lep/52, dated 15 May 1973). From 10 September to 10 October 1975, a detailed project formulation draft on Leprosy Control was prepared in Kathmandu with the participation of health planning specialist of the Ministry of Health and WHO as well as the staff in charge of the leprosy control programme in Nepal, a WHO Medical Officer from WHO Headquarters (Geneva) and representatives of private charity organizations, participating in the programme. Other specialists included statisticians and health educators. The basic framework for the project formulation was the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan (1975-76 to 1979-80).
