The plan of operation for the malaria eradication programme was signed on 4 December 1958. On the appointment of a WHO sanitary engineer at National Headquarters early in 1960, the writer was re-assigned as WHO sanitarian for the Middle Sector, and stationed at Amlekhganj. This assignment lasted until January 1962, when, because of the consolidation of the sector, the Middle Sector ceased to exist as an administrative unit; the writer was re-assigned as WHO sanitarian at the National Headquarters. This is the post he has held up to the time of writing this report. The report deals with the overall "attack" programme during the whole of the assignment in Nepal; except during the short tenure of the first WHO sanitary engineer the writer was concerned with the whole of the operation.
