The writer visited several institutions dealing with the production, distribution and quality control of drugs and pharmaceuticals. Discussions were also held with prominent personalities concerned with health services and production and distribution of pharmaceuticals. Immunological products were not discussed. It was understood that TAB, Cholera and Rabies vaccines were not being produced. The purpose of the assignment were: (1) to study the facilities available for the quality control of pharmaceuticals, and (2) to observe the existing measures, both legal and administrative, for the enforcement of drug quality control.
