The United Nations World Food Programmer (WFP) has held its Annual Children’s Design Competition at the Bhairabnath Higher secondary school, Naumule Bazar in Dailekh district. The theme for this year’s competition is “Zero Hunger:Infinite Possibilities”. The competition takes place across the world in schools where WFP runs school meals programmers. WFP and the Government of Nepal have been distributing school meals to children in Nepal since 1996.The design competition, organized by WFP Nepal, was a two-day event that saw the participation of 152 students from ten different schools. On the first day, professional artists taught the children basic drawing and painting skills. The competition concluded with an exhibition of the children’s artwork, attended by parents, teachers and district officials. The students used the exhibition to involve their families and friends in a lively conversation about hunger, education and art.
