PDF File Size: 72 KB | Download
On 15 September, one week ago, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted resolution 1939 extending the mandate of UNMIN until 15 January 2011. In its resolution, the Security Council states that this is the last extension of UNMIN's mandate, and that after 15 January next year, UNMIN will leave Nepal.
This four-month extension of UNMIN’s mandate was requested by the Government in its 14
September letter to the Secretary-General, with which the UCPN-M concurred. This consensus on UNMIN’s extension formed part of the parties’ Four Point Agreement of 13 September.
