सूचनाको हक र पत्रकारिताबारे बुझ्न सघाउने यस हाते पुस्तकमा खोज पत्रकारिता, सूचनाको हक, सूचना लिने विधि र प्रक्रिया तथा सार्वजनिक निकायको दायित्व बारेमा पनि बिस्तृत जानकारी समावेश गरिएको छ। यसले पत्रकारितामा सूचनाका हकलाई प्रयोग गर्ने पत्रकारलाई सहयोग गर्ने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ। सूचनाको हक नागरिक मौलिक हक हो, यद्यपि सार्वजनिक निकायमा भएका महत्वपूर्ण सूचनाहरूलाई सार्वजनिक गरेर राज्य र सरोकारवालाहरुलाई जवाफदेही बनाउने काम खोज पत्रकारिताको अत्यन्तै सशक्त भूमिका रहन्छ। जनचासो विषयमा नागरिकलाई सुसूचित गराउन र राज्य तथा सरोकारवालाहरुलाई नागरिकप्रति जवाफदेही बनाउनका लागि गरिने खोज पत्रकारिता गर्दा सुचनाको हकलाई कसरि प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ भन्ने विषयको सैद्दान्तिक र व्यावहारिक पक्षलाई यस हाते पुस्तकमा समावेश गरिएको छ ।
