As per the 21 st general convention's resolution of carrying out a nationwide movement for the restoration of a complete press freedom, a meeting of the central working committee of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) held on May 20 has agreed on a string of protest programs to be organized across the nation. The immediate past central working committee as well as the 21 st general convention of the FNJ had strongly urged on the government to put an end to all the wrong-doings against the press and the media persons, to reactivate the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990 and to ensure an unfettered press freedom. But, instead of paying heed to the Federation's repeated appeals, the government has tightened its noose around the Nepalese press. Therefore, Federation has had no choice but to declare a tough protest program.
