UN Condemns Killings of Civilians

The United Nations System in Nepal expresses its deep concern at the number of civilians reported to have been killed and injured this month due to the conflict.condemns the brutal murders reported this week in Kailali of members of the families of police officers with the Armed Police Force. The dead include a one-yearold child.The UN System is shocked by the significant number of civilian deaths and injuries that resulted from the two recent attacks on public buses in Chitwan on June 6 and Kavre on June 10.the United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, on June 6 for an “immediate end to such utterly reprehensible tactics that expose civilians to danger conflict in Nepal.”
