The main reason why the political parties asked - by consensus - for UNMIN to remain for a further six months, to January 2009, was of course related to the management of arms and armies. Next week one half of that six months will have passed. Of course we all know the reasons why formation of the new Government has taken time, and now it is the holiday season.
