Message by Chairperson Justice Anup Raj Sharma of National Human Rights Commission-Nepal on The Occasion of The 66 th International Human Rights Day

The universal declaration of human rights UDHR has completed its 66 th year since it was adopted and enforced in 1948. this year, the national human rights commission is celebrating the occasion with the slogan human rights for all in every household, a base of peace and development.the Commission, would like to express my honor to all human community dedicated promote human rights friendly system and society including human rights culture. human communities around the globe must get the opportunity to enjoy human rights on the basis of dignity, freedom and equality. this regard, the country is now in the process of writing new constitution. with utmost concern, therefore, the commission is putting all necessary efforts towards making a human rights friendly constitution. indeed, the effective role of all stakeholders is needed for this.truth and reconciliation commission and the Commission for inquiry on the disappearances as soon as possible to address the incidents of human rights violation during the armed conflict. these incidents must be addressed taking into account the human rights norms and values and humanitarian law. expressed commitment in international level for the respect, protection, promotion and fulfillment of human rights despite various critical circumstances the country is undergoing.
