Government of Germany Contributes 100,000 Euro To UNHCR’s Nepal Programme
PDF File Size: 32 KB | Download
The Government of Federal Republic of Germany has contributed 100,000 Euro towards Humanitarian Assistance and International Protection for the Bhutanese refugees in Nepal. This contribution is in response to a specific proposal submitted by UNHCR to the Government of Federal Republic of Germany in August this year to continue its support for the protection and assistance to the Bhutanese refugees. The German Government responded favorably. Expressing his gratitude, UNHCR’s Representative in Nepal, Abraham Abraham said, “We wish to thank the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Germany for this generous and needed assistance for UNHCR’s activities in Nepal.” “Of the total contribution, the sum of 70,000 Euro will be used for shelter, food, water and sanitation and 30,000 Euro for international protection, monitoring and
coordination,” Abraham added. The Government of Federal Republic of Germany has been a reliable donor and has supported the refugee agency’s programme in Nepal since the beginning.
