The Government of Nepal aims to eradicate the worst forms of poverty, eliminate social exclusion and ensure that all people have access to formal and non-formal education programmes, as this is the key to ensuring sustainable development. Many national and international organisations are implementing projects to this end in local communities all over Nepal. In spite of the fact that a wide range of stakeholders have common development objectives, there has been very little coordination between these initiatives. This has resulted in the duplication of efforts, wasted resources, a lack of awareness about successful innovative approaches, and missed opportunities to capitalize on potential effective partnerships.
