OHCHR-Nepal Welcomes Jyoti Sanghera as Deputy Representative

OHCHR-Nepal would like to announce the arrival of Jyoti Sanghera as Deputy
Representative in Nepal of the UN high Commissioner-for Human Rights. Prior to her arrival, Ms. Sanghera was OHCHR’s Senior Human Rights Adviser in Sri-Lanka. She also worked at OHCHR Geneva for five years as the adviser on trafficking and migration, and has served as a Senior Adviser on trafficking and migration with UNICEF in South Asia and New York and with UNDP’s regional office in New Delhi. Ms.Sanghera has worked on human rights issues in relation to women, migrants, and other discriminated groups for the past three decades, including with key NGOs in North America and Asia. The holder of a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, she taught for several years in the Department of Women Studies in the University of Victoria in Canada.
