Highlights:
1. In the Press Briefing of 11 April 2008, a list of polling stations was made available where the election was postponed and cancelled. The election has been postponed/cancelled in an additional 75 polling stations of 19 constituencies in 12 districts. Details are included herewith.
2. The Commission instructed concerned Returning Officers to determine a date for and
conduct re-polling in the polling stations where the election has been postponed /cancelled, keeping in mind local conditions. Information has been received that concerned Returning Officers have determined dates for re-polling as follows
3. According to information received by the Commission, ballot counting is underway in
157 constituencies of 62 districts. Details of which are available on the Commission’s website.
4. The Commission has instructed the concerned Chief Returning Officer to initiate departmental action against Amarendra Kumar Yadav, polling officer of Dadha Sabik VDC Building (a) of Dadha VDC polling station in Constituency No. 2 of Saptari district, for using ballot papers for the proportional electoral system without signing them, and to cancel the election at the said polling station and make arrangements for re-polling.
