Flash flood and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall from 16 June 2013 heavily affected the Far Western Region (FWR) , Districts affected are: Darchula, Kanchanpur, Kailali, Baitadi, Accham and Dadeldhura , Darchula is the worst affected district , A massive flash flood in Mahakali River swept away more than 50 houses and huts including 13 government offices and four temples , Reports so far have set the death toll at 9 , Around 2500 people of 300 families were displaced in Darchula district , Flash flood in Mahakali River from 16 June swept away more than 50 houses and 13 government buildings in Khalanga (Darchula’s District headquarters) , An estimated total of 4,400 people have been affected including many displaced families.
