Security Council Press Statement On Nepal

The following Security Council press statement on Nepal was read out today by Council President Vitally Chungking Russian Federation The members of the Security Council welcomed the progress towards Constituent Assembly elections in Nepal. Members of the Security Council looked forward to elections being held in a free and fair manner on 10 April and urged all Nepalese parties to uphold public security and create an atmosphere that is conducive to a successful forthcoming election. The members of the Security Council reiterated their full support for the United Nations Mission in Nepal.
