In the final week of UNMIN's verification activities in the cantonments, the purpose of the visit is to offer political representatives of the Seven-Party Alliance an opportunity to see for themselves the verification process and to be briefed on that process by the UNMIN Chief Arms Monitor, General Jan Erik Wilhelmsen. Political representatives also observed the weapons storage area and general conditions in the cantonment site.
