OHCHR-Nepal Hands Over Human Rights Pocketbook to Nepal Police

OHCHR- Nepal Representative Richard Bennett on Thursday handed over 58,000 copies of a pocketbook on human rights to Nepal Police SSP Binod Singh. The Human Rights Standing Order for Nepal Police (Nepal Prahari Manab Adhikar Sthai Adesh) consists of international human rights standards for law enforcement officials on issues including: policing in a democracy, conducting investigations in accordance with human rights, crowd control, use of force and firearms, combating discrimination, community relations, the rights of refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) and others.
