This report presents the findings and recommendations of the Joint Assessment Mission (JAM) commissioned by UNHCR and WFP regarding assistance to Bhutanese Refugees in Nepal. The JAM took place from 29 May-9 June 2006. The Mission included representatives from UNHCR and WFP offices in Nepal and Thailand. In addition, an official from the European Commission Office for Humanitarian Assistance (ECHO) joined the team for three days as an observer. The focus of the 2006 JAM was on developing strategies that would lead to durable solutions and overall management improvements in the operation.
