नेपालमा शान्ति प्रवर्धनको काममा महिलाको भूमिका पनि पुरुष सरह नैछ । तर अहिलेसम्म पनि अधिकांश अवस्थामा त्यस्तो भएको छैन । संसद, सरकार, राजनीतिकदलहरू, निजामती सेवा, न्यायालय, नागरिक समाजको नेतृत्व र परम्परागत रूपमा सीमान्तीकृत समूहका आन्दोलन - सबैतिर महिलाहरूको प्रतिनिधित्व कम छ । समावेशी र लोकतान्त्रिक समाजकोनिर्माण र शान्ति प्रवर्धन गर्नेगहन राष्ट्रिय प्रयासमा नेपालले आफ्नो सबैभन्दा ठूलो सम्पत्तिका रूपमा रहेका जनताको पुर्ण उपयोग गर्न सकेको छैन । शान्ति प्रक्रियाका समुदाय तह देखि राष्ट्रिय तह सम्मकै महत्वपुर्ण भूमिकामा अझै धेरै महिलाहरूलाई स्थान दिनु अत्यावश्यक छ ।
