the amount of suffering and the human rights violations faced by Nepalese women during
the conflict is yet to be reduced since the peace process has just begun. Moreover, as other country examples show, sexual gender based violence tends to increase and be overlooked in post-conflict situations. Without addressing the gendered dimensions of the conflict and without women’s direct and active engagement in the peace process, there is little hope of achieving a meaningful and sustainable peace.
