PDF File Size: 645 KB | Download
A National Workshop on Meeting the EFA Goal of Early Childhood Development: Clarifying the Concept and Policy Guidelines was organized jointly by the Department of Education, Ministry of Education and Sports and UNESCO Country Office, Nepal from 21 to 23 July 2003. The program was organized at Hotel Annapurna, Kathmandu, Nepal. The workshop was organized to share and refine the Early Childhood Care and Education part of Education for All (EFA) National Plan of Action developed by the Government of Nepal. The EFA National Plan of Action was developed in line with the framework provided by the World Education Forum on Education for All (EFA), held in Dakar, Senegal in April 2000. The Dakar Forum has adopted six goals to fulfill the EFA by the year 2015. The first goal of EFA is "expanding and improving comprehensive early childhood care and education, especially for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children". It shows that Early Childhood Care and Education is one of the focus areas of the EFA campaign.
