An Overview of the Mid Western Region of Nepal
PDF File Size: 885 KB | Download
The Mid Western Region (MWR) is the largest of the five development regions of Nepal. It has the same three eco-zones as the other regions: Tarai, hills and mountains. It has some of the most remote and economically depressed areas of the country, in particular the Karnali Zone. It is also home to two major ethnic and religious minorities, Tharu and Muslim, as well as some endangered groups. This paper provides a quick overview of main development issues of the region.
