Mr. Nil Kumar Magar from Okhaldhunga district, is a labour migrant returning from Qatar. On average, every day, approximately 800 Nepalis leave the country through formal channels to work abroad. Returning migrants not only bring remittances but also skills and culture. IOM advocates for mainstreaming the economic and social benefits that migrants bring to national development plans and policies as envisioned by the Global Compact for Migration and eventually contributing towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
